Training

  • At least 100 hours of training offered in EMS and Fire operations every year.
  • Meetings held on Wednesday nights from 7 to 9 pm.
  • Additional training is offered regularly throughout the year and may include classes, drills, conferences, and fire academies.
  • All training is free for active volunteers

Volunteer Requirements

Firefighter Volunteer Requirements:

  • Minimum 18 years of age

Support Volunteer Requirements:

  • Minimum 16 years of age
  • Tasks may include providing support, maintenance, or administrative assistance.

EMT Volunteer Requirements:

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of 3 month, 150 hour EMT course
  • Certification as EMT through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
  • All training paid for with a 3 year commitment to the district

You can volunteer if you:

  • Live or work in or near the 99012 zip code
  • Are able to pass a criminal background check
  • Are able to pass a physician’s physical exam
  • Have a safe driving record
  • Are at least 16 years old for support volunteers, 18 years old for firefighters and EMTs

How To Apply

 You will find a link to our online volunteer application form below.  Before proceeding, please take a moment to collect the following items.

  1. Emergency contact person address and phone number.
  2. Your physician’s name and phone number.
  3. Your blood type (if you know it).
  4. Your current employer’s address and phone number.
  5. Your previous employer’s address and phone number.
  6. The names, addresses, and phone numbers of 3 personal references (no relatives).

Click on “Start Online Application” below to start your volunteer application.  Please plan on taking 15-30 minutes to fill out the application.  This form does not allow you to save your progress and return to it later.
