Good information from our neighbors in Idaho. Town of Fairfield will have a yard waste day coming up for our community that you may want to utilize to help in your fire protection and beautification efforts. If you are going to burn be sure to follow local guidance and rules. Contact District 2 for permits in our area prior to any fires please.π₯π± Get Ready, Idaho! Spring is Here, and so is #FirePreventionFriday!
As we welcome the longer days and warmth of spring, let's also welcome a proactive approach to wildfire prevention! ππ² This first weekend of spring, let's kickstart our efforts to safeguard our communities and beloved landscapes from the threat of wildfires. πͺπΌβ¨
Here's the plan: Start early by clearing up yards and properties. Remove dry leaves, dead branches, and any flammable debris that might fuel a fire's spread. Let's make sure our homes are fire-smart and defensible! π‘π₯
Remember, if you're planning to burn yard waste, do it responsibly and in accordance with local regulations. π₯π Only burn when it's safe, and never during windy conditions or when fire danger is high. Stay with your piles continually and be sure to extinguish them fully with water. Drown, Stir, Repeat. π¦π»
Together, we can make a difference in preventing wildfires this season! Let's stay vigilant, stay prepared, and stay #FirePreventionJen strong! πͺπΌπ₯ Spread the word and let's keep Idaho safe and beautiful! π²π

SCFD 2 and 12 have enjoyed the nice weather this weekend, and hope you have too. It made for a perfect day to train and work with live fire scenarios with many of our members. This live fire training is a major benifit for our members in order to further develop and be more prepared for a real structure fire. Thank you to all of our members who took time out of their weekend to participate, preform rehab for our members, and to those members who took on any calls while many members were out of our district. It takes a lot of people to allow for a training such as this to happen. Additionally, thank you to Spokane County Fire District #3 for allowing us your burn tower for the day. ... See MoreSee Less

Any chance you can join PulsePoint? That would be awesome so citizens can stay informed about fires and help out with any cardiac arrest calls if they are closer than first responders
Letβs spring forward safely! remember to change smoke alarm batteries when you change your clocks, also, check any fire extinguishers in your house to ensure your home is safe and ready for spring. οΏΌDaylight savings time begins this weekend Sunday, March 10th. This is a good time to test your smoke alarms and change replaceable batteries if needed. As we get closer to the February election we would like to encourage everyone to vote on the Annexation of Fairfield into Fire District 2. In order for this vote to pass both the voters of Fairfield and the voters of SCFD 2 must pass this measure with a simple majority. County residents will continue to pay the same amount of taxes regardless of whether or not, this is passed. However, οΏΌif passed SCFD 2 will see an approximate $30,000 more through taxes. This will be possible by Fairfield taxpayers seeing a tax shift from the Town Of Fairfield into SCFD 2 Fire and EMS with an increase of only $0.0374/ $1000 Assesed Value. That means if passed the average home in Fairfield would only be paying less than $10 more annually based on 2023. This money would go directly to local Spokane County Fire District 2 (the green area of the map). SCFD 2 would then be able to use the money to benefit our local community as a whole. ...
